Making a Statement in Stratford.
Situated within Westfield shopping centre - Stratford, and occupying 650 sq m over two floors, this Jamie's Italian stands on the edge of the Olympic Village and is surrounded by high-end retailers and over 300 brands.
Blacksheep was tasked with installing a new facade and interior that would make the restaurant stand out against the competition whilst retaining the brand's integrity, authenticity and also establishing a sense of theatre. Instead of fighting against the industrial aesthetic of the space, Blacksheep chose to emphasise it and create a space that combines theatrical high ceilings and exposed black steel staircase with intimate market place dining areas and plush buttoned leather banquette seats.
The new black steel and glass facade with its sections of cedar panelling is utilised to create dramatic views into and out of the space, making a focal point of the bespoke suspended feature chandelier constructed of rusted chains and LED headlight pendants. The finishes have a rustic warehouse feel utilising distressed herringbone timber floors, tumbled mosaic tiles and rich red leather banquettes set off against ivory and orange Tolix chairs, all of which help to create a unique environment in Europe's largest urban shopping centre.
